IIT Roorkee has declare GATE 2017 result on March 27, 2017. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 exam was held on February 4, 5, 11 & 12, 2017. GATE result 2017 will be announced for all candidates who have appeared in the exam. This year, GATE 2017 result and score card will be issued on the same date. Candidates have to log in through GOAPs to check their GATE 2017 result and if they qualify they can download score card. The score Card will be available for download from March 27 to May 26, 2017. The GATE 2017 score cards will be issued to only those candidates who will secure marks equal to or above the qualifying marks as per their category. GATE result 2017 will be valid for 3 years from the date of its announcement. GATE 2017 result and score card can be used for recruitment in PSUs like ONGC, BHEL, GAIL, SAIL etc. and for pursuing M.E., M.Tech, and Direct Ph.D. from IITs, NITs and CFITs. The marks of candidates in GATE 2017 will be calculated out of 100 while the GATE Score will be displayed out of 1000. The process of normalization will be adopted while driving the GATE 2017 result and score so that any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers (as some papers are held in different sessions) can be adjusted.   • Click on ‘GATE Result’ tab
  • Enter required details like GATE 2017 Registration Number, Roll Number and Date of Birth in space/fields provided
  • Verify the accuracy of the entered credentials
  • Click on submit button
  • GATE 2017 result will be shown on the screen indicating whether you are qualified or not
  • If you have qualified only then you can download GATE score card 2017

What is GATE 2017 Score Card and how to download it?

Candidates who have qualified can download their GATE score card through GOAPS (GATE Online Application Process System). The score card of GATE 2017 can be downloaded between March 27 and May 26, 2017. It is an essential document, therefore, candidates must download and preserve the soft copies till 2020 (GATE score is valid for 3 years). How is the GATE Result computed

The process of standard deviation will be implemented on the raw scores obtained by the candidates while calculating GATE 2017 score. The raw score will be calculated as per the marking scheme of GATE 2017 for papers that will be held in a single session while for papers conducted in multiple slots and sessions a process of normalization will be adopted to obtain the raw scores. GATE normalization process and how it is implemented

The process of normalization will be implemented for CE, CS, EC, EE and ME papers as it will be held in in multi- sessions and slots. The normalization is based on the fundamental assumption that “in all multi-session GATE papers, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same across all the sessions”.

Based on the above assumption and after considering various normalization methods, the GATE committee has derived the below formula for calculating the normalized marks for GATE papers held in the multiple session.

Q.1. How can I get a hard copy of my GATE 2017 scorecard? Is there a last date to download this?

Ans.  The hardcopy of GATE 2017 will not be issued by examination authority. Candidates have to download their GATE 2017 and preserve it. Candidates must download their Score Card by May 26, 2017, else they will have to pay for a copy which again is a facility available for a specific period of time

Q.2. What is the validity of GATE 2017 result & score?

Ans. The score of GATE is valid for 3 years from the date of declaration of the result. The GATE result 2017 and score of will be valid until March 26, 2020.

Q.3. How to download GATE 2017 score card after due date – May 26, 2017?

Ans. The link for downloading the GATE 2017 score card will expire on May 26, 2017, therefore, candidates are advised to download their score before the due date. In case any candidate requires a soft copy of GATE Score Card after May 26 until December 31, 2017, they can do so by paying a fee of Rs. 500 (five hundred only) on the GOAPS portal.

Q.4. Do I have to preserve my GATE scorecard?

Ans. Candidates are advised to preserve their GATE result cum scorecard for three years because it is required to at the time of time of PSUs recruitment and M.E., M.Tech admission. Sometimes PSUs demands previous year GATE score card and admit card to fill their backlog vacancies. For, an example in 2016, DRDO and NALCO asked GATE 2015 scorecard to fill their last year vacancies.
