You are about to prepare for a prestigious central government post, Engineering Services examination (ESE). ESE is also popular amongst students by the name of Engineering Service Examination (ESE). This exam is conducted every year by UPSC. Before starting preparation for such an honoured post, you must know the minimum qualifying marks of the exam. In short minimum qualifying marks is also known as cutoff marks. And according to this you have to set your mind at the level from where no one can stop you from qualifying the IES exam. ♦ In each of the two objective papers (prelims): General, OBC, SC and ST candidates has to secured minimum 15% marks . For PH candidates, cutoff marks reduced to minimum 10% marks.
♦ In each of the conventional papers(mains) : General and OBC has to secured minimum 15% marks, SC & ST candidates minimum 10% marks and PH candidates minimum 5% marks.
♦ Subsequently after qualifying mains paper (conventional paper), qualified students called for interviews which is of 200 marks. Finally after a month UPSC announced overall results of qualified students for posting as one of the prestigious central employee. Some of the vacancy is then posted by our honourable president(president of India).
