UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE)/ Indian Engineering Service (IES)

Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is also very much famous by the name of Indian Engineering Services (IES). Engineering Services Examination is conducted by the UPSC for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering posts. Students who qualified the Indian Engineering services examination are then eligible for IES department allocation in the distinctive post at the effects of this examination related to engineering which are under the government of India. The candidate must have a degree in engineering (B. Tech.) from a university in India incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

Age criteria for UPSC ESE exam, minimum age limit for the eligibility for ies is 21 years and maximum age limit is 30 years. And the age is measured from the 1st January, of the current year. There is no exam attempt Limits.

5. Number of Vacancies

The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 602 including 32 PH vacancies. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration.

  • ♦ No fee for Female/SC/ST students (Female/SC/ST/ PH who are exempted from payment of fee)
  • ♦ Other students are required to pay a fee of Rs.200/‐ (Rupees Two hundred only)
